Smartphone shipments down 10% in festival quarter on weak demand, high prices

The premium smartphone segment priced at above $500 ( ₹40,000) was the only category that grew, with shipments rising 64% YoY. However, the segment continues to play a bit-part role in India’s overall shipments, and was thus unable to offset a decline of 15% YoY in shipment of smartphones priced below $300 (around ₹25,000) in the September quarter.
