The National Capital was engulfed by a thick blanket of smog on Wednesday, with the PM2.5 concentration reaching ten times than what is considered safe. Visibility also fell in Delhi and was recorded at 600 meters in Safdarjung. Within a matter of hours, the Air Quality Index (AQI) went from "poor" to "very poor" and was recorded at 342 by 4 pm.
